He was a lifetime resident of Venice, and married opera soprano Margherita Raimondi in 1705. Antonino Biffi, the maestro di cappella of San Marco, was a witness and, presumably, a friend of Albinoni’s. Albinoni rose to early popularity as an opera composer in a number of Italian cities, including Venice, Genoa, Bologna, Mantua, Udine, Piacenza, and Naples, but he doesn’t appear to have any further ties to that city’s main musical institution.
