Fabrizio was born in Palermo on February 11th, 1977. After obtaining a Degree in Sculpture in 2001 at the Fine Arts Academy of Palermo and pursuing his music studies as self-taught guitarist, he attended a Bachelor Jazz Guitar course at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen (Netherlands) in 2004 where he studied with Conrad Herwig, Ralph Peterson Jr., Brian Lynch, David Berkman, Steve Davis, Michael Moore, Deena De Rose, Don Braden, Anton Goudsmith. He also attended workshops with Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Salvatore Bonafede, Ralph Towner, Maria Pia De Vito, Timucin Sahin, David Gilmore, Kurt Rosenwinkel.
In 2007 Fabrizio was awarded a Bachelor Degree receiving a Grant by the prestigious Andrea Elkenbracht Foundation in Groningen which enabled him to live and study 3 months in New York. He continued his studies with Ben Monder, Gilad Hekselman, Lage Lund, Jonathan Kreisberg, Adam Rogers and attended seminars with Gene Bertoncini and Steve Coleman.
In March 2011 Fabrizio released the debut CD Manziluna (Fitzcarraldo Rec.) as a co-leader.
In 2012 -2014 Fabrizio participated in various national and international projects such as the Emanuele Primavera Quartet, Marvi La Spina’s “Macchina di Suoni” Orchestra (special guest David Kikoski) in Italy the Jacek Kochan’s “MusiConspiracy” Quartetet in Poland (CD release in 2017). He played with Conrad Herwig, Marcello Pellitteri, Stefano D’Anna, Giovanni Falzone, Dominik Wania, Seby Burgio, Pietro Ciancaglini, Mauro Schiavone, Michael Rosen, Owen Hart Jr., Tarek Yamani, Kaja Draksler, Sanem Kalfa just to name a few.
Currently, Fabrizio regularly performs at important festivals and clubs in Italy, Netherlands, Lithuania and Poland.
In 2014 Fabrizio moved to London where he performs as sideman and recently is a co-leader of the Contemporary Jazz Quintet “Esquivo” (with singer/composer Sylvia Schmidt).
