Anna Pietrzak- Switala

Bio

Born in Poland, Anna has been playing the violin since she was 8.

She graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London with a BMus Honorous degree in violin performance, where she worked with Matthew Trusler and Matthew Denton. Before, she completed two years of study at the Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland.

Throughout her education, she took part in numerous workshops with great violinists from Poland and the UK as well as in Trinity Laban Side by Side projects, where she played with highly experienced orchestral musicians such as members of the London Philharmonia Orchestra during concerts conducted by Douglas Boyd, Jonathan Mann or Andre de Ridder. She also led two string quartets and currently is a member of a string duo.

She participated in numerous projects and played in many orchestras including the “Warsaw Festival Orchestra”, “Adoramus Orchestra”, “Horton Chamber Orchestra” or “European Union Chamber Orchestra” with whom she performed in the UK, Poland, Germany, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition to her performance work, she is an active violin and music teacher. She completed the “Violin Methodology Course” organised by VocalArt Foundation as well as the “Instrumental Teaching Course” at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Currently, she is a music specialist in primary schools and violin and piano tutor.
